Selfless Jesus

Scripture: Psalms 134-135, Romans 15.

Gospel summary: Christ Jesus not only died to cleanse his people from all sin, but his life was a model for them of selfless love.

Prayer: Father in heaven, I am prone to be totally self-centered and bent on pleasing only myself. Thank you for showing me true selfless love in Christ by his servant life and servant death. Help me to die to my selfishness and give of myself for the good of others by the power of your Holy Spirit. Show me ways to express the selfless love of Christ today and give others a window into a heart changed by this love so that they might be changed by it too. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
